Director of preconstruction overview
Position Summary:
The Director of Preconstruction is responsible for coordinating all preconstruction tasks for construction of new builds and remodels for multi-site multifamily and commercial construction projects, typically in the $2M - $25M range. Responsibilities will include reviewing project documentation to calculate overall project feasibility, scope, cost, and time, preparing estimates and buying out subcontracts, supporting PMs with Operational Project Reviews, perform risk analysis for cost, schedule, quality, and develop contingencies, identifying potential project problems early, especially delays that may lead to claims, among other tasks for projects. The Director of Preconstruction will ensure the project estimations are accurate and reflect every aspect of the project plans and specs, while also providing overall managerial and technical direction of projects to project management teams and ensuring project agreements are in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
